Ritetemp 6036 Trane Freedom80 Blows 5amp Fuse When Limit Switch Is Not Jumped, Yet When Rigged It Performs Fine?!?

Trane Freedom80 blows 5amp fuse when limit switch is not jumped, yet when rigged it performs fine?!? - ritetemp 6036

I have recently installed a programmable thermostat RiteTemp 6036, Wired-W white, blue and green-g, red as your HR support. 2 weeks later I received 4 blinks indicates the limit switch opens the oven, so I got a new (standard-purchased Flash have received even 17 Janvier of 09, which is a replacement set). How to buy another switch, it is installed, the seal and fuse 5 amp # 1 immediately after turning on the oven again with the thermostat. Old end position and the substitution can both Midwest Chi-device testing. Cable unit is in good hands, the oven is not in a trauma, (no trace of the mouse and I) checked frequently and the control panel is not visible burned everywhere. I just cut and re-install the cable to the back of the thermostat is in vain .... At that time I had a 5-pack of fuses and now have the end jump racing, anyone can help? Happy New Year (I hope)

Do this:

Turn on the heater. Remove the panels and the bottom to expose the control loop. Get a mini-heat or Phillips screwdriver and pull the thermostat wiring board. The use of quality parts (non-metallic), a band or something to keep - to (black) door handle plastic / switch "closed". Then in the circuit, the bridge of 24 'V, "R" - screw-in "on" Terminal W - heat. " Let's remove the door panels for this and now the mainstream recovery.

1. If the fuse blows immediately 5 amps, then you have a "short circuit" in the heater - somewhere in the low 24-volt circuit.

Or

2. If the fuse does not melt, and the device continues to call for heat to start, only then you will conclude the process throughout the operation of the fan. He can run for like a few minutes, right next to the bridge plate and heater to quickly heat your operation.

This, of course, take the thermostat "connected" and "new" thermostat "of the equation. Finally, if the heater works very well end up with the way I described above, once the son of the thermostat (only) to the circuit board and repeat the process again but this time the deck of the "r" and "W "to the son to leave the wall with the thermostat completely separated.

Last but not least, check the wiring of the thermostat. In general, if you have heating and cooling, you can with only 4 son R, W, Y, G received power of the thermostat. But then you can use a thermostat "mechanical" or "Battery" Stata. I think Rite-Temp, you have two options: the battery or when a 5th 24volt wire to "C" common power to the thermostat. If you get 5 cable from the wall. PWR R-red/24volt, W-white/heat, G-green/fan relay "and" - Yellow / Cooling relay, and a "B" - Blue Thisis generally used for the common good 24v. Well, first of all, the first double-check the connections colors and son in the circuit, then check whether your thermostat is connected in the same way.
Take your time and good luck

End of career, I think your talking about the upper limit, in the heat exchanger? no chance that the switch to go into contact with the internal heat exchanger and on land? if the limit switch eliminates cable and leave .. I Travel although I've seen, not in the oven, but they've already seen. just a thought, can help, and maybe not. Happy New Year to you too

And the race is doing his job, and there is a problem elsewhere. Keep it filled up, and finally, when the problem occurs and you can set the time who tell the smell of smoke, and the $ 500, has made her bag out, then you know what a real problem.
